Joe Rose
Principal Solicitor
Joe oversees all of the firm’s matters and is regarded as one of the leading costs experts in Australia. In addition to Legal Costs, Joe has a general Litigation practice, this includes Professional Negligence and Commercial Litigation.
He has extensive experience in legal costs disputes, spanning multiple jurisdictions, having originally practised in England before moving to Australia. He is regularly instructed in multimillion dollar costs disputes, and advises both National and Multinational law firms based on their invoicing and ongoing work.
Joe actively contributes to the legal profession by conducting a diverse range of seminars on cost-related topics, and works with pro bono organisations to facilitate recovery of their time acting on behalf of vulnerable individuals.
Joe’s expertise has resulted in legal costs precedents being set, while advising law firms and clients in the background and preparing supporting documents in cases. This includes the recent successful legal costs appeal in Mirus v Wilson [2023] NSWSC 1432.
When not working, Joe enjoys scuba diving, and also follows his beloved EPL team West Ham United.
