Kieran was the firm’s first ever employee and has played a seminal role in it’s growth. During that time Kieran has assisted in acting for over 130 different law firms, ranging from small disputes over unpaid invoices to complex litigation involving in excess of 100 of different interlocutory orders.

Kieran now handles his own case load involving a variety of complex legal costs issues, utilising his experience to identify the issues early and give cogent advice to both law firms and clients. Kieran is quickly building a reputation as a leading costs expert, having navigated a range of complex legal costs matters.

This has included instructions in the Federal Court, Victoria, Queensland, New South Wales and Western Australia. In addition to his costs practice, Kieran assists the firm with a number of professional negligence matters.

His experience enables him to give realistic projections to clients early on, encouraging negotiations and avoiding further costs being incurred.

Key achievements since joining the firm include the following:

• Instructed in respect of costs arising out of litigation that has been ongoing for more than a decade, with over 100 different costs orders.
• Leading the team in preparing objections to a $5million claim for costs (with in excess of 9,000 items), complying with a 3-week timeframe stipulated by the court.
• Being successful in a range of review applications.
• Averaging above 85% recovery in the Federal court for ordinary basis costs orders.

In his spare time, Kieran enjoys cricket, the beach, reading, and spending time with his friends and family. He follows Arsenal FC and the South Sydney Rabbitohs.
