Matthew’s main area of focus at Rose Legal involves preparing itemised Bills of Costs, drafting objections, and conducting research on costs law matters. Matthew also prepares observations to counsel and assists clients throughout the costs assessment process.

Prior to joining the firm, Matthew practised in secured lending and commercial property, qualifying in the United Kingdom in September 2025. Working on complex, document-heavy transactions built the accuracy and organisation that assessment work depends upon, and he draws on this experience when preparing bills and objections on high-volume claims.

Matthew holds a Bachelor of Laws from the University of Liverpool, where he achieved First Class Honours, and completed the Legal Practice Course with the University of Law, achieving a Commendation. Outside the office, Matthew enjoys travelling, spending time at the beach, reading, and keeping in touch with family and friends.
